(Daily Wire) — The growing controversy over possible collusion — not that collusion, internal FBI collusion — is beginning to play out in public perception of the bureau’s investigations related to Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. And things are trending in a bad direction for Democrats.

Rasmussen’s new survey of Likely U.S. Voters (conducted Jan 22-23) found that a majority suspect that bureau officials deliberately destroyed evidence that could potentially expose political bias influencing its much-criticized Clinton investigation and the eventual Trump-Russia “collusion” probe. A plurality are now calling for a special prosecutor to look into potential bias at work in the once widely trusted bureau.
Asked if they believed the mysteriously missing text messages was a cover-up, 58% of the 1,000 likely voters surveyed by Rasmussen said yes. Here’s Rasmussen’s breakdown:
Fifty-eight percent (58%) of all voters think it is likely that the FBI or the agent in question destroyed those messages to hide something from investigators. Thirty percent (30%) consider that unlikely. This includes 40% who say it’s Very Likely the messages were deliberately destroyed versus 13% who say it’s Not At All Likely. Another 13% are not sure.
