Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) may be an “icon” to his leftist pals, but he should only be remembered as a serial sexual assaulter and groping pervert.

On Monday yet another accuser came forward to corroborate previous allegations against Conyers and to add her own harrowing tales to the pile.

Elise Grubbs worked for Conyers from 2001 – 2013 and in a sworn affidavit she confirmed the accusations of another one of his victims, Marion Brown, who had previously accused the congressman of some gross misconduct.

Another former staff employee of U.S. Rep. John Conyers, D-Detroit, came forward late Monday to publicly accuse the congressman of sexual harassment, saying he once slid his hand up her skirt in church.

Attorney Lisa Bloom, who is representing Marion Brown, the former staffer who first accused Conyers, 88, of sexual harassment, on Monday night made public on Twitter an affidavit from Elisa Grubbs making many of the same accusations. …

She said in the affidavit she saw Conyers groping and stroking Brown’s legs and the legs of other women in the office and that she saw Brown shortly after an alleged event in Chicago in 2005 where Brown said Conyers’ propositioned her in a hotel room. In the affidavit, Grubbs said Brown told her, “That SOB just wanted me to have sex with him.”

She also said she was sitting next to him at church on another occasion when he ran his hand under her skirt and said other people saw him do it.

This latest accusation was enough to finally push Conyers out the door. On Tuesday morning the cowardly and disgusting Democrat announced that he would be “retiring” from office, and that he was endorsing his son to take over his seat in the House.

Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., said he will step down from Congress as of Tuesday, amid allegations of sexual misconduct leveled by multiple women.

Conyers told a Detroit radio show this morning that “I am retiring today,” though he is effectively resigning. He also said in an interview on The Mildred Gaddis Show that he wants his son, John Conyers III to succeed him in Congress. “My legacy will continue through my children,” Conyers said.

Michigan law says it’s up to the governor to call a special election to fill the seat.

Notice that the Congressman announced that he would be “retiring” and not “resigning.” There is a difference and Conyers’ people have been attempting to accentuate that difference all morning.

The grandson of Conyer’s brother clarified to the New York Times that his great-uncle is not resigning, and added a few twists.

“He is not resigning. He is going to retire,” the Ian Conyers said. “His doctor advised him that the rigor of another campaign would be too much for him just in terms of his health.”

The reality is that Conyers would not be “retiring” today if not for the flood of accusations against him.

No doubt he’s hoping that by announcing his retirement and saving the Democrat Party from any more ridicule at his expense, he’s hoping that this move will allow Democrats to remember him as the icon they pretend he is, instead of as the lecher he actually is.
