A local storm that swept across Mecca brought heavy rains, which may have resulted in the collapse of cranes around the Grand Mosque of Mecca.

RT reports:

According to Saudi Interior Ministry, at least 154 more people were injured in the incident.

The tragedy comes ahead of the annual Hajj pilgrimage which is due later this month. Millions of Muslims from around the world will converge on the holy city between September 21-26.

Local media reports suggested that the accident occurred due to heavy rains the Kingdom. The governor of the Makkah region, the capital of which is Mecca, Prince Khalid al-Faisal has ordered the launch of an investigation into the causes of the accident.

mosque collapseThe BBC is reporting that 87 were killed and more than 180 people were injured.

A major expansion of the mosque site began in 2014 so that it might be able to accommodate up to 2.2 million people at once. I’m guessing they don’t have those international fire codes imposed upon them in Mecca.

The mosque surrounds the infamous and occultic Kaaba, the most sacred site in Islam. It’s a place where many Muslims travel on the Hajj pilgrimage in a similar manner to how Rome tried to press the same superstitions on the Christian world.

I find it interesting that this should happen on the 9/11

Believers, if God would take down the fishgod Dagon all by Himself in the little god’s very temple (1 Sam. 5), what makes you think He would not fight the battle on behalf of His people if they would but repent and trust Him to do so? If He would turn the people of Midian against each other on behalf of His people (Judges 7), what makes you think He would not do the same for His people today? If He would cause the walls of Jericho to come crashing down around the enemies of the people of God (Joshua 6), what makes you think He would not bring about the same kind of results today?

The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. -Exodus 15:3

You think that was just for Old Testament Israel? It isn’t. The New Testament is filled with references to the people of God (Acts 7:38), as the Church (Israel) (Gal. 6:16), made of Jews and Gentiles (Eph. 2:11ff). Today’s Geo-political Israel is not the people of God. They reject the Messiah and as such are considered anti-Christs by the apostle John (1 John 2:22; 4:3; 2 John 1:7) and the synagogue of Satan (Rev. 2:9; 3:9). Those who are of the same faith as Abraham are the children of Abraham (Gal. 3:7-14), whether Jew or Gentile, and thus, the children of God (John 1:12-13).

Let us, as the people of God repent towards God of our wicked ways and see him not only heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14), but also destroy our enemies (Exodus 23:27; Psalm 18:40; Psalm 143:12) and bring many to the Lord Jesus Christ (John 12:32) before us for His glory!

I seek first the kingdom of Christ because everything else in this world is perishing. All that I have is from God who is always faithful. I have worked hard all my life and will continue as long as God lends me breath. The mistakes and bad judgments I made in my life all stemmed from me trying to work things out by myself. I have learned the hard way that the victory over all of my problems and the answers to all of my desires lie solely in my Savior, Jesus Christ.

It is now my desire to share the words that God gives me to encourage and give hope to others who need the strength that only faith in Christ can give.
